The Application is on Its Way (the adoption equivalent of the check is in the mail)

We finished the application last night and it is officially in the mail as of 9:40 this morning! We are pretty excited.

I think it's pretty cool that we finished the application on one of the first days of the Chinese New Year and on President's Day here in the US. I see it as a nice bridge between Eva's birth culture and forever home.

To mark the occasion, I looked up some interesting facts on this day in history.

On February 20th in history:

In 1792, President George Washington signed an act creating the U.S. Post Office. [That's good to be a good sign since I used USPS to send it].

On Feb. 20, 1962, astronaut John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth, flying aboard Friendship VII.

In 1809, the Supreme Court, in United States v. Peters, ruled the power of the federal government is greater than that of any individual state. [Gotta love federalism. Just kidding]

In 2007, the agency application to adopt Eva was mailed. ;-)
